The 17th season of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is about to start within 20 days. The first match is scheduled for March 22 in Chennai’s Chapauk Stadium. In this first encounter, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will fight against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Filled with stars like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, RCB is looking comparably strong. But everyone, especially RCB fans, is so tense thinking about Virat Kohli. Virat has skipped the ongoing Test series against England for personal reasons.
He was initially named in the squad, but he withdrew from the squad ahead of the first test match. Earlier this month, along with his wife Anushka Sharma, Virat announced the birth of their second child.
Earlier, ex-Team India player and commentator Sunil Gavaskar expressed his doubts about Virat’s appearance in the upcoming IPL season. He said, “Will he play? He is not playing for some reason. Perhaps he may not play in the IPL as well.”
Now, the RCB great and Kohli’s long-time teammate, AB de Villiers, has also commented on Virat’s comeback in the IPL. When asked about Kohli’s return to the IPL, ABD gave a positive response. While hinting at the same on his YouTube channel, ABD said, “Nothing has been confirmed yet. Virat has hinted that he might want me to come over just to spend a bit of time with him. I think the call has got to come from Andy Flower, Faf, and the team. But for now, I am just going to be in Mumbai for the first few weeks of the IPL.”
