Rohit Sharma Reaction To India Winning INDvsENG Series
Indian captain Rohit Sharma lauded Kuldeep Yadav after winning the match and the series. He said that everything has to fall into place if you want to win a Test. He further added that the team did a lot of things right throughout the match. Rohit also talked about star players absence during the series. He said,
“At some stage people will go, we know that. All these guys are short on experience but they’ve played a lot of cricket. We need to nurture these young players and make them understand the game. When put under pressure they responded pretty well. I want to give credit to the entire team for that.
When talking about winning a test, we talk about scoring runs, but taking 20 wickets is also important to win the match. Everyone, all the bowlers came and responded. They all wanted to make a difference with the ball in hand.”
The Indian skipper also lauded Kuldeep, saying “We all know Kuldeep has a lot of potential. He can be a match-winner for us. He has something about him. After his knee injury, from the moment he come back, he’s putting a lot on the ball. Most pleasing was his batting!”
Team India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored great runs in this series. Rohit said that Jaiswal got a long way to go. “He wants to take on the bowlers. His talent, his shots, he puts bowlers under great pressure. He’s come a long way and will understand what he needs to do. This is a top series for him, he really likes to score big.”
