Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers may be feeling the heat after their poor performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). But it’s not just the ardent supporters who are outraged; famed cricketer Kris Srikkanth Shows No Mercy to RCB and launched a blistering attack on his YouTube channel, leaving no room for justifications.
SRH Decimated RCB Bowling
The SRH hitters decimated RCB’s bowling attack, enabling a staggering 287 runs – the highest total in IPL history. Lockie Ferguson and Reece Topley, called in as frontline bowlers, appeared ineffective. This bowling breakdown resulted in a humiliating defeat for RCB, who are currently sitting at the bottom of the IPL standings.
Srikkanth Shows No Mercy
Srikkanth offered a scathing critique. He questioned the team’s bowling strategy, claiming that even Virat Kohli, a batsman who rarely bowls in the IPL, might have performed better. “Virat Kohli came out angry when he walked out to bat,” Srikkanth remarked, referring to Kohli’s apparent displeasure on the field. “Head was smashing them, Klaasen after that… But what about the bowlers? They just couldn’t handle the pressure.”
“Play With 11 Batters”
Taking his complaint a step further, Srikkanth recommended an unusual solution: fielding a squad of 11 batsmen. “Maybe they should just play with all batsmen,” he offered. “Give Cameron Green four overs. I believe Virat Kohli would not have conceded as many if he had bowled four overs. Virat Kohli is a decent bowler, you know.”
While Srikkanth’s proposal for an all-batsman team is probably exaggerated, it highlights the gravity of RCB’s bowling problems. Their struggles were evident throughout the match, with none of the bowlers escaping undamaged. If the club is to climb back up the IPL rankings, they must find solutions and inspire a turnaround in their bowling attack.
Srikkanth’s statements serve as a wake-up call to RCB. With their next match coming, the team’s management and bowlers will be under enormous pressure to address these important concerns and prove their mettle on the field.
