A Guntur district court issues notices to Janasena party supremo Konidela Pawan Kalyan in relation to the derogatory claims on volunteers. The case was filed for his alleged offensive comments on the village or ward volunteers last year. Guntur district court additional Judge Sarath Babu issued a notice to Pawan Kalyan and directed him to appear before the bench on March 25.
The volunteers got furious on Pawan after his remarks and accused that Pawan’s remarks are tarnishing government’s reputation and their hard work. In his Vaarahi public rally at Eluru on July 9, 2023, Pawan made some shocking accusations.
While referring to the NCRB data, he said that around 29,000 women were missing in the state. He claimed that he was privy to intelligence from central agencies that the volunteers are aiding anti-social elements in women trafficking. He also alleged that volunteers are giving the people’s data to government, to help YCP in elections.
In the wake of this incident, AP government issued a GO on July 20 to initiate legal action against Pawan for his objectionable comments on volunteers. The Janasena party general secretary Nadendla Manohar took a swipe on government for its GO asking legal action against his party leader.
