Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav declared a firm stance against illegal mining during a departmental meeting. He also discussed measures to cow protection during a recent meeting at the Mantralaya on February 19th, 2024.
After a clear presentation by the Principal Secretary, CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the need for stringent measures to curb illegal mining. He directed a joint meeting of the Revenue, Home, and Mineral Departments to devise a strategy to face the issue. He stressed the importance of regular departmental reviews and strict action against offenders. He also emphasized the need for public awareness campaigns to address the problem.
The CM also discussed about cow protection during a pre-cabinet meeting. He highlighted the issue of cows wandering on roads and causing accidents. The first-time CM announced plans to ensure proper sheltering for cows and prevent such incidents.
He said that his government is committed to increase the funding and honorariums for cow shelters. He further announced a budget allocation for the respectful cremation of deceased cows. Yadav decided to assign these responsibility for these measures to Gram Panchayats, Municipal Councils, and Municipal Corporations.
