RCB star Virat Kohli made sure that his first words at the RCB Unbox 2024 event were about RCB’s loyal fan base. He appreciated the side’s fanbase and how he wants to realize his dream of winning an IPL trophy for them.
The IPL franchise shared a a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), in which Kohli thanked the RCB fans and promised to always be there for the franchise. The RCB star said that he would aim to emulate the women’s team’s achievements and add another trophy to their cabinet in this year’s IPL.
He also talked about the women’s team winning WPL 2024 and his own future. Virat Kohli said, “Amazing. When they won, we were all watching it, At that point, you realize the fan base in its absolutely purest form. It felt like the city won. These are special things and it is something you create over a long period of time.
30,000 people for the finals and a packed stadium when they played here at Chinnaswamy. These are special things that you only create over a long period of time. It can never be done in one or two years. There was this 16 years of loyalty and passion from the fans and that is unwavering.”
Virat Kohli also hailed the RCB women’s historic triumph in the Women’s Premier League final against Delhi Capitals. He said that he hopes to follow it up with another title from men’s team. “Hopefully we can double it up with the trophies in this season.
That’ll be something truly special. I’ll always be here, trying to be the part of the group that wins the trophy for the first time. I will guve my best with my ability and experience to win the title for the fans and the franchise.
It is also my dream to know the feeling of winning the IPL,” he added at an RCB Unbox event. RCB will be starting their IPL 2024 campaign against defending champions Chennai Super Kings on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
