DMK Releases Controvercial Manifesto For Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Announces First List Of Candidates
Tamil Nadu‘s ruling party, the Dravida Munnetra Khazagam (DMK), released its manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Wednesday. In the presence of party chief and state chief minister MK. Stalin and other DMK leaders, MP Kanimozhi unveils the party’s manifesto.
After disclosing their manifesto, the MP expresses her gratitude for giving her the opportunity to head the committee of ministers for making the party’s manifesto. She also said, “We saw how much this Dravidian model government has done for the Tamin Nadu people. So, now we believe that this election manifesto will help us to take our Dravidian model to all over India.”
She added that she is very confident about securing the total of 40 seats in Tamil Nadu, along with a good number of seats in the remaining states.
Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Highlights of DMK’s Manifesto
- DMK chief and Tamil Nadu‘s CM, MK. Stalin, have promised that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will not be implemented in India.
- LPG cylinders will be sold for ₹500 to all households. Petrol for ₹75 and diesel for ₹65 in all over India.
- Tamil Nadu government will not implement the National Education Policy (NEP) in the state and implement a complete ban on conducting the NEET examination.
- Until the office of governor is abolished, a governor of the state should be appointed in consultation with the CM of the state.
- Thirukural will be made a ‘National Book’.
33% reservation for women in parliament and assembly will be implemented immediately.
The exam will be conducted in Tamil for Union Government Jobs.
A separate financial statement will be prepared and filed for the Railway Department‘s developement.
Indian citizenship to Sri Lankan Tamilians who return to India.
₹1000 monthly money for women if they come to power again in the state.
Toll gates on national highways will be closed.
Many of the opposition parties‘s and other leaders, except the leaders and parties of the INDI Alliance, condemned and criticized this manifesto, saying that it was an unconstitutional manifesto. DMK is trying to divide the country; they want to rule this nation and suppress all other regime people and languages. This is never going to happen.
However, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) won 38 of 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and registered a landslide victory in the state.
