Ahead of the assembly polls, AP ruling party YSRCP got another jolt as Ongloe MP Magunta Sreenivasulu resigned from the party. The MP is unhappy with party appointing Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy as Ongole Parliament Constituency In-charge.
Not happy with this appointment, Magunta resigned to YSRCP’s primary membership on Wednesday. Announcing his resignation, Magunta made key remarks. He told that his son Magunta Raghava Reddy will be contesting in the upcoming elections.
His remarks gave a strong boost to the speculations of him and his son joining the opposition TDP. As per the sources, they both will be joining TDP in a couple of days. In his resignation letter, MP Magunta thanked CM Jaganmohan Reddy for his support in the past five years.
He also mentioned that he is leaving the party in unavoidable circumstances. Around five MPs left YSRCP recently, including Magunta. The other members are Dr S Sanjeev Rao (Kurnool), Lavu Srikrishna Devarayulu (Narasaraopet) and Vallabhaneni Balashowry (Machilipatnam)
and also Rajya Sabha MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy. They all resigned from YSRCP as they are unsatisfied with party leadership. Experts feel that this will surely give YSRCP a headache in the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
