Andhrapradesh assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram disqualified eight MLAs from the house. The speaker addressed the disqualification and said that the disqualification decision was taken as per the Representation of the People Act. He also clarified that CM Jagan did not interfered in the matter.
“Parties filed the disqualification petitions against thier MLAs who switched their loyalties. We gave the MLAs ample time to give their explanation. After that, I have taken the decision to disqualify them,” the speaker explained.
The disqualified TDP MLAs include Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Karanam Balaram, Maddali Giridhar, Vasupalli Ganesh. These TDP leaders extended their support to ruling YSRCP after winning the polls with TDP. Also four YSRCP MLAs, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi switched their loyalties to the TDP. They were also suspended by the speaker.
