Yuvajana Sramika Raitu Congress Party (YSRCP) president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the candidate list for the upcoming Vidhansabba elections. Hours before the Election Commission’s Lok Sabha and Assembly polls’ schedule announcement, Y.S. Jagran declared the names of all 175 MLA candidates along with 25 Lok Sabha MP candidates at once. The CM’s move is interesting, and it’s a bit of a of a shock to the opposition parties. The timing of the announcement is also a definite and important factor.
On Saturday afternoon, Jagan visited his father, the late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s Memorial Ground (Samadhi), at Idupulapaya in Kadapa. After paying floral tribute to his father, CM Jagran released the list.
A.P.’s Revenue Minister, D. Prasada Rao, disclosed the names of the candidates. According to the list, the YSRCP president dropped as many as 32 sitting MLAs. However, many of them were reshuffled, some have been shifted to other constituencies and some to Lok Sabha constituencies. While disclosing the candidates’ details, the YSRCP stated that they have allowed contesting in Assembly polls for as many as 50 candidates for the first time.

Former MP Botsa Jhansi Laxmi – Visakhapatnam
Y.S. Avinash Reddy – Kadapa
P.V. Mithun Reddy – Rajampet
Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) – Vijayawada
P. Anil Kumar Yadav – Narsaraopet
Predominant win in the 2019 polls:
In the 2019 elections, the YSRCP won 151 seats out of a total of 175 assembly seats. YSRCP achieved a predominant win in Lok Sabha Polls also. It won 22 out of 25 Parliamentary seats. The ruling party got an overall 49.6% vote share in the previous polls.
