A day after the Supreme Court’s critical observations on DMK minister Udayanidhi Stalin over his controversial comments on Sanatan Dharma, another DMK minister, A.Raja’s purported speech against Lord Rama and Unity of India, drew sharp outrage across the nation.
What Raja said?
While addressing an event, A.Raja made some disapproving comments on Lord Ram. He said, “We are enemies of Ram. If you say this is God, this is your Jai Sri Ram, and this is your Bharat Mata Ki Jai. We will never accept Jai Sri Ram and Bharat Mata. Tamil Nadu won’t accept. You can tell everyone that we’re enemies of Ram. I don’t have faith in the Ramayana or Lord Ram. If you say that in the name of the Ramayana is human harmony, where four brothers are born as siblings, one Kuravar as brother, one Hunter as brother, another monkey as another brother, another monkey as the 6th brother, then your Jai Sri Ram is Chi! Idiots!,” he said.
Quick Reactions:
As a quick reaction to Raja’s comments, Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi temple’s chief priest, Ramesh Das, said, “Whatever the DMK leader said is completely condemnable. The entire world is ‘Ram May’. We will write to the PM and the President about this.”
These People Support “Tukde-Tukde Gang”: Union Minister Anurag Thakur
Union minister Anurag Thakur said the DMK leader is part of the tukde-tukde gang. “They are the people who abuse Hindi, talk about ending India, support the ‘tukde tukde’ gang, and raise slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ after their leader wins the Rajya Sabha elections. They are the people who want to destroy Indian culture.
BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad Slammed INDI bloc and Congress:
Subsequently, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad also slammed the INDIA bloc and the Congress on the same issue. Mentioning that the DMK is an ally of the Congress in Tamil Nadu, he said, “It is evident that insulting India’s ethos, publicly humiliating Hindu gods, and questioning the very idea of India has become the hallmark of the political agenda of the INDI Alliance… Is Congress ready to stoop so low for their political gains that they are ready to accept such comments?.” Earlier, the BJP spokesperson for Tamil Nadu, Narayanan Thirupathi, demanded the immediate arrest of A. Raja.
