Tamilnadu politicians, especially rulling DMK leaders, are not turning back from making controversial comments. A day after the Supreme Court made critical observations against the son of state CM and state minister Udayanidhi Stalin’s controvercial comments on Sanatan dharma, another DMK minister, A. Raja, moved a step ahead and targeted the unity of India.
According to BJP leader Amit Malviya’s tweet, A. Raja said that “India is not a single nation. You have to understand this well. India is never a nation. One language, one tradition, and one culture will be a perfect example for a nation. But we can notice how much India is diversified. We have different cultures, different lifestyles, and different languages. Then, how can we call India a nation? So, we cannot call it a country. I will never consider India a nation. However, we can call it a subcontinent that is filled with different countries.”
Raja also explained his theory. He said that, “Tamil is one nation and one country. Malayalam has one language, one nation, and one country. Oriya is also a different nation, due to its language and diversity. All these nations make up India. There are so many traditions and cultures. If you visit Tamil Nadu, here we follow a culture. But if you visit our neighbor, Kerala, you can find another culture there. Odisha, Delhi, everyone has their own culture,” Raja defined.
While pointing out Manipur, Raja quoted RS Bharathi’s comments. “As per RS Bharti, people in Manipur eat dog meat. Yes, it is true; they eat. That’s a culture. There’s nothing wrong. It’s all in our minds,” Raja stated.
However, after A. Raja’s “hate speech,” the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that A. Raja had tried to defame the idea of India. BJP leader Amit Malviya posted the speech of A. Raja on X and wrote that the “hate speeches from DMK’s stable continue unabated. After Udhayanidhi Stalin’s call to annihilate Sanatan Dharma, now their minister, A. Raja, took the responsibility to make derogatory comments.
Besides, Amit Malvya also posted another video of A. Raja from the same event, where he can be seen making derogatory comments towards Lord Sri Ram. As per Amit Malviya, A Raja said, “We are enemies of Ram. If you say this is God, this is your Sri Ram, and this is your Bharat Mata Ki Jai, we will never accept your Jai Sri Ram and Bharat Mata. Tamil Nadu won’t accept; we’re enemies of Ram. I don’t have belief in the Ramayana or Rama. If you say that in the name of the Ramayana is human harmony, where four brothers are born as siblings, one Kuravar as brother, one Hunter as brother, another monkey as another brother, another monkey as the 6th brother, then your Jai Sri Ram is Chi! Idiots!” he said.
These comments by A. Raja sparked a huge controversy across the nation. Hanuman ghadi to the common people, everyone condemning Raja’s comments and demanding strict legal action against him. TN BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathi said that A. Raja should be arrested.
