Ahead of IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Keshav Maharaj, along with head coach Justin Langer, fielding coach Jonty Rhodes, and teammate Ravi Bishnoi, recently embarked on a spiritual visit to Ayodhya. Maharaj, a devotee of Lord Rama, shared a photo on social media from inside the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, offering his respects and wishing everyone blessings.
This trip wasn’t just about Maharaj’s personal faith. The LSG players and staff aimed to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Ayodhya, participating in darshan at various sacred sites. This experience likely served to further unite the team as they gear up for the upcoming season.
Earlier this year, Maharaj expressed his desire to visit the temple following its inauguration ceremony. Now, as the IPL season approaches, he’s fulfilled that wish and shared the experience with his teammates and coaches.
The Lucknow Super Giants are set to begin their 2024 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Captain KL Rahul, who missed the latter half of last season due to injury, is reportedly ready to return after undergoing extensive rehabilitation. Coach Langer spoke highly of Rahul’s dedication to returning to form and expressed his excitement to have him back in the squad.
