The Congress party released its third list of MP candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. On Thursday, the party disclosed the list of 57 candidates who are going to contest the upcoming parliament polls from their party. They released the list in their ‘Central Election Committee’ meeting held under the chairmanship of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
The Congress posted the same list on their official X handle and wrote, “In our ‘Central Election Committee’ meeting held under the chairmanship of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, we decided the names of 57 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and released the list.
In the list of Congress’s 57 candidates, 17 are from Karnataka, 11 from Gujarat, 8 from West Bengal, seven from Maharastra, five each from Telangana and Rajasthan, two from Arunachal Pradesh, and one from Puducherry.
The list includes party president Mallikarjun Kharge’s son-in-law Radhakrishna from Karnataka, former Union minister Sushilkumar Shinde’s daughter Praniti Shinde from Maharastra, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from west Bengal.
However, Congress released its first list of candidates on March 8. The list comprised 39 candidates from eight states and one Union Territory. On March 12, the party announced its 43 candidates from five states and one UT.
