The National Investigation Agency is swiftly moving to solve the Bengaluru Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) prison radicalization case. It carried out raids in several states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Punjab, Gujarat, and West Bengal. In the early hours of Tuesday, NIA official teams swooped down at the premises of suspects in various places across the states.
During the raids, the NIA recovered 25 mobile phones, 6 laptops, 4 storage devices, currency notes from various countries, several incriminating records, and cash.
Last year, in July, 5 men who were allegedly possessing 7 country-made pistols and 45 live bullets were arrested in Bengaluru. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) took these people into custody.
According to the reports, the accused men were allegedly radicalized in prison by T. Nasir. Nasir was an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative who was arrested in 2009. Nasir was lodged in Karnataka’s prison as a suspect in the serial blasts in Bengaluru.
After those blasts, the CCB started probing the case. However, in December 2023, the NIA took over the case and started a swift investigation.
