The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supreme, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, sustained a major head injury. The party’s social media handle shared a photo of Didi, who can be seen lying with a bloody head.
As per the party, initially, after the injury, Mamata was admitted to Kolkata’s Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) Hospital. But later, she was shifted to the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences at the IPGME&R-SSKM Hospital Centre for treatment.
The doctors immediately treated Banerjee and stitched her injury after completing all necessary tests. After the treatment, she was discharged. Abhishek Banerjee, along with her other family members, accompanied her to the house.
“Our chairperson, @MamataOfficial, sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers,” the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) wrote on social media platform X.

Reacting to the news, several politicians and leaders from the opposition parties extended their wishes for Mamata’s speedy recovery. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, wished Banerjee a speedy recovery and shared the message on X.
Along with PM Modi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, former J&K CM and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, and other political leaders expressed their shock at the incident and wished for her recovery.
