The Telugu Desam Party has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India, claiming that party general secretary Nara Lokesh’s phone was tapped. According to the TDP’s complaint, certain police personnel are monitoring their leader’s cell phone on orders from the state administration. The former Rajya Sabha member, K. Ravindra Kumar, wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner on Friday.
He further stated that Lokesh’s iPhone had received notifications that it was being tapped by unknown authorities using Pegasus software. Ravindra Kumar said that DGP Rajendranath Reddy and Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyu have become YSRCP stooges, conducting immoral and unlawful acts to undermine the NDA alliance’s chances of victory in the approaching Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Ravindra Kumar underlined that Rajendranath Reddy has been serving as AP DGP since last year, which is in violation of Supreme Court directions. In his complaint, the TDP leader claimed that Anjaneyu is a subordinate of the state administration and that he has previously been accused of operating in a biased manner toward the government. The TDP urged that the EC take prompt action against these officials, appoint neutral officers in their posts, and ensure free and fair elections.
