In the fourth match of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals defeated Luknow Super Gaints by a huge 20 runs margin. After winning the toss, Rajasthan decides to bat first and scored 193 runs after losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Lucknow was not able to even come close to the target. They could score only 173 runs after losing 6 wickets until the end.
Rajasthan Innings:
Royals batted well from the begining. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 24 runs off 12 balls. While Dhruv Jurel contributed 20 runs for 12 balls. Then after Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten half-century for his team. Samson stood still at the crease till the end and scored 82* off 52 balls. Joining hands with Samson, Ryan Parag also scored a quick 43 runs off 29 balls. LSG‘s Naveen Ul Haq took two wickets and Ravi Bishnoi and Mohsin Khan got one wicket each.
LSG innings:
While chasing the 194 run huge target, Lucknow openers De Kock (4), Padikkal (0) and Badoni (1) threw their wickets cheaply. Despite the early wickets, the skipper KL Rahul sets his foot at the crease and managed to score a much valuable 58 runs off 44 balls. In the middle-order Deepak Hooda (26) tried to push the scoreboard forward with some consequtive boundaries, while the Windies batter Nicholas Puran (64 runs of 41) balls) slammed a steady half century. But his fight wasn’t enough for the team to achieve Victory.Whereas, RR bowlers Trent Boult took two wickets; Nandre Berger, Sandeep Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal got one wicket each.
When LSG stopped 20 runs behind the target and lost the match, RR staeted this season with a huge win and opened their account with a marvelous win. Rajasthan‘s skipper Samson was awarded by player of the match.
