Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s criticism of the Congress party’s manifesto. He said that Modi’s ideological predecessors had supported the British and Muslim League during the freedom movement. PM Modi’s speeches always smell of RSS, and he is trying to divide the country to win votes, Kharge added.
Speaking at an election rally in Bihar’s Nawada district on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi lashed out at the Congress. He alleged that Congress election manifesto has the imprint of the Muslim League. The statements of its leaders show hostility towards national integrity and Sanatan Dharma.
While responded to this, Kharge shared a post on Platform X on Monday and said that the Modi-Shah’s political and ideological ancestors had supported the British and Muslim League against Indians in the freedom movement. The predecessors of Modi-Shah opposed the call given by Mahatma Gandhi during the Quit India Movement in 1942 and they also refused to took place in the movement led by Maulana Azad. Your forefathers formed their governments in Bengal, Sindh and North West Frontier Province 1940s with the help of Muslim League. Everyone knows this. Such people are now attributing the legal document we prepared with the cooperation of Indian citizens to the Muslim League.”
