The prime minister, Narendra Modi, said that the situation in Manipur has improved a lot due to the timely intervention of the central government and the efforts of the state government. He said that the entire administrative machinery has been deployed to rectify the situation, and as a result, Manipur is returning to a normal state. In an interview given to a news paper, PM Modi spoke about the situation in Manipur. Modi said that the situation in Manipur is improving due to the collective efforts of the central and state governments.
Prime Minister Modi said that Home Minister Amit Shah reached Manipur at the peak of violence and held more than 15 meetings with various communities to resolve the dispute. He said that the state government has taken appropriate measures in this matter, and the center has also continuously extended its support to the state. He explained that relief and rehabilitation programs are going on in Manipur, and financial packages are being provided for the people in the camps.
Later, Prime Minister Modi said that the Center is working for the development of all the states of North East India. “Since 2014, we have spent Rs. 14 thousand crores for education in Northeast India. We started the first sports university in Manipur itself. We have set up 200 Khelo India centers in 8 states of northeast India, including Sikkim. Over 4,000 startups have started there in the last 10 years. We are doing all this for the development of North East India,” said Modi.
