On Tuesday, former Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar ruled out the possibility of forming an alliance with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), the party of former Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar urged people to not believe any talks of a BJP-BRS alliance. He made these claims while giving a speech at the Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra in Karim Nagar. Bandi Sanjay Kumar mocked the possibility of a coalition with KCR’s party, saying, “Who ever talks about BJP-BRS alliance, slap them with slippers.”
He went on, “No one will want to get into a sinking ship,” implying that siding with BRS would be counterproductive. Throughout his speech, the BJP MP continued to play the religious card. The “disciples, descendants, and devotees of Ram,” in particular, he urged the audience to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said, “Those who’re not Ram devotees, who want to see Babri Masjid instead, vote for Congress, BRS, or other parties.”
The Telangana BJP has scheduled ‘Vijaya Sankalp Yatras’ from February 20 to March 2 in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections, which are just weeks away. Nevertheless, in the 2019 General Elections, the BJP has taken control of four state seats.
