While everyone was busy having their lunch at 1 p.m. on Friday in Bengaluru’s Rameswaram café, a sudden IED blast sparked a panic situation in the area. Police teams and fire brigade teams were rushed to the explosion site. As per the police, at least nine people were injured in the blast and hospitalized. According to the police records, the CCTV footage shows a person leaving the bag, which causes the explosion.
While reacting to the incident, CM Siddaramaiah said that the investigation is going on and the accused will definitely be punished.
Earlier, after receiving the news about the blast, the DGP immediately informed the chief minister, Siddaramaiah, and Home Minister, G. Parameshwara. He briefed them on the incident. He informed the media that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) visited the incident site.
However, Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra also reacted to this blast and made the Congress government responsible for it. He said, “The investigation into this case should be handed over to the NIA. The CM should take the responsibility of the incident and resign immediately. Another BJP leader demanded the state home minister take responsibility for the incident and resign from his position.
Nevertheless, the Rameshwaram Cafe is one of the popular hangouts in Bengaluru. This place is always an extremely crowded during lunch hours.
