A Meta-owned messaging service app, WhatsApp, has announced a new update related to user privacy and safety. As per the Meta, the new update will not allow users to take screenshots of the profile pictures of other users.
Meta says that the update is part of improving the privacy and safety of app users. “It’s going to be introduced in the app’s upcoming update, and it will be a default setting that no user can enable or disable,” Meta added.
Facebook’s mother firm mentioned that if any user tries to take a screenshot of another user’s profile picture, a pop-up message “Can’t take a screenshot due to app restrictions” will be displayed.
However, the new update is only available for Android users for now. Within a few days, it will also be implemented on iOS too.
