PBKSvsSRH: Heinrich Klaasen, a Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hitter, used his “rocket launcher” to send some massive shots into the sky ahead of his team’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Punjab Kings.
SRH will face PBKS at the Mullanpur Stadium on Tuesday. SRH is ranked fifth in the points standings, with two victories and two defeats. Punjab is sixth position, with the same win-loss ratio and points as SRH, but trailing them due to a lower net run rate.
SRH went to X and posted a video of the devastating right-hander. “HK with a rocket-launcher disguised as a cricket bat,” he said on Twitter.
Klaasen is one of T20 cricket’s most ruthless hitters, and he has built a reputation as a short-form specialist in recent years. He is the seventh-highest run-getter in the IPL 2024, with 177 runs in four innings at an average of 88.50, including two half-centuries. His runs had a strike rate of 203.44. His highest score is 80*.
After brief and uneventful experiences with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2018 and 2019, Klaasen made a spectacular return to the IPL with SRH last year. Despite the Orange Army’s terrible season, which saw them finish last after winning only four of fourteen matches, Klaasen lifted SRH’s erratic batting lineup and thrilled spectators.
In 12 matches, he scored 448 runs at an average of 49.77 and a strike rate of 177.07, scoring a century and two fifties in 11 innings. His best score was 104.
