Shinde Once Again Skips CM Meeting: Amid rumors that the Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde is still pouting over not being given the top position and a dispute over the selection of guardian ministers, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde has once again skipped a meeting convened by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Shinde did not attend Fadnavis’s Monday meeting to discuss key projects, including one involving his housing agency. Yogesh Kadam, the Shiv Sena’s Minister of State (MoS), represented Shinde. Last week, Shinde was also absent from the Cabinet meeting.
Shinde Once Again Skips CM Meeting: Is It Rift?
The rumors that the Chief Minister and his deputy are not getting along have only gotten worse as a result of the developments. But according to Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske, Shinde was unable to attend the meeting because a member of his family became ill.
The reason Eknath Shinde did not go was because someone in his home was sick. Saying that there is some resentment is incorrect. “False propaganda is being spread by the Uddhav Thackeray camp,” Mhaske stated.
The ruling Mahayuti alliance’s NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, made no comment on the development either. “How do we know why he (Shinde) did not come to the meeting? Ask him why he did not attend a meeting if one was scheduled,” Chhagan Bhujbal advised.
‘EKNATH SHINDE ASKED FOR A STAB IN THE BACK’
The Uddhav camp questioned the ruling alliance about the matter, claiming that with its leaders vying for the top position, it has hampered Maharashtra’s advancement. As Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant put it, “Shinde had asked for a stab in the back… now he will know what the BJP is.”
Priyanka Chaturvedi was more scathing in her criticism. Shinde goes to the village occasionally when he is upset. They (Shinde and Fadnavis) don’t get along with each other. They are fighting, and they are breaking their promises to the public,” the Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP stated.
The comparison was to Shinde visiting his Maharashtra village in the midst of a stalemate over the position of chief minister after Mahayuti’s overwhelming victory in the Assembly polls. After the BJP won 132 of the 230 seats the alliance had secured, Shinde was forced to give way for Fadnavis to assume the leading position.
