The much awaited science fiction film “Kalki 2898 AD” has finally made its way to the big screen. Following months of building anticipation with character posters and behind-the-scenes looks, the producers finally revealed the actual release date on Saturday.
New Poster Unveils Release Date
Taking to their official X account (formerly Twitter), Vyjayanthi Films, the production house behind the movie, dropped a brand new poster featuring the film’s leading stars – Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan – in their captivating avatars. The poster sparked further anticipation as fans got a fresh look at the actors’ unique character portrayals.
Kalki 2898 AD: From May to June
The film, initially slated for a May 9th release, will now hit theaters on June 27th, 2024. Sharing the news with fans, the makers posted a message of unity: “All the forces come together for a better tomorrow on 27-06-2024.”
Amitabh Bachchan Hints at an Epic Battle
Earlier that day, the production team had heightened the anticipation with a short video on their official Instagram page. A significant announcement set for Saturday night was hinted at in the video. It showed Amitabh Bachchan’s persona, who had long hair, a beard, and a tough appearance, extending his hand to a shivalinga. “Ab mera samay aa gya hai,” Bachchan’s commanding voice proclaimed, hinting at an epic struggle to come.
“Mere antim yudh ka samay aa gya hai,” (Now is my time. The time for my final battle has come) he continued. Following this, a text on the screen instructed viewers to “Stay tuned tomorrow at 5 PM.” The caption echoed the message, reading, “The time has come! Announcement at 5 PM tomorrow. Stay tuned.”
A Stellar Cast and Intriguing Premise
The movie has an impressive ensemble of actors, including Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film, which is being directed by Nag Ashwin and has Aswini Dutt’s support, seems to be a compelling fusion of science fiction and mythology. The story will unfurl in all its splendor in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi versions, audiences can expect.
