
Champions Trophy 2025 host Pakistan’s reign in the tournament ended without a single win. Pakistan, who entered the tournament with huge expectations as the defending champions, saw a huge disappointment. Pakistan, who were defeated by New Zealand and India in succession, went home without reaching the semi-finals. The final league match against Bangladesh, which was scheduled to be played on Thursday, was called off due to rain.
The entire outfield became a swamp due to the continuous rain since morning. The match was not possible to conduct as the entire outfield was waterlogged. As a result, the umpires cancelled the match without even going to the toss. Both teams were awarded one point each. With that, Pakistan’s struggle in the champions trophy ended without a single win. Pakistan has recorded the worst record in the history of the Champions Trophy. It became one of the host teams to exit the tournament without registering a single win. Pakistan also became the second defending champions who couldn’t reach knock out stage of the Champions Trophy, after Australia.

The Pakistan team that exited the tournament has been given a compensation of Rs. 2.31 crore. The teams participating in this tournament will get at least Rs. 1.9 crore. The teams finishing in 7th and 8th positions will get an additional Rs. 1.22 crore. If England wins against South Africa, Bangladesh will also get Rs. 2.31 crore prize money. If England loses to South Africa, Bangladesh will finish in sixth position. Then Bangladesh team will also get Rs. 4.28 crore. The teams finishing in fifth and sixth positions will get a minimum prize money of Rs. 1.9 crore, plus an additional Rs. 3.05 crore. So, Bangladesh will get Rs. 4.28 crore. The team winning the title will be given Rs. 19.56 crore. The runner-up team will get Rs. 9.78 crore and the semi-finalists will get Rs. 4.89 crore each.
