
KKR vs RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got off to a good start in the IPL 2025 season. RCB, which had a collective effort in the opening match against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, won by 7 wickets. Krunal Pandya was a stunner in the bowling and Virat Kohli was the one who made the most of the batting.
KKR Good Start
Batting first in this match, KKR scored 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane (56 off 31 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes) scored a half-century, while Sunil Narine (44 off 26 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (30 off 22 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes) played key innings.
Among RCB bowlers, Krunal Pandya (3/29) took three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood (2/22) took two wickets. Suyash Sharma, Rasikh Salam and Yash Dayal took a wicket each. At one stage, KKR looked like scoring 220 plus due to Rahane-Narein’s momentum. But Krunal Pandya restricted KKR to a modest score with sensational bowling.

After that, RCB scored 177 runs for 3 wickets in 16.2 overs and won comfortably. Virat Kohli (59 not out in 36 balls with 4 fours, 3 sixes) and Phil Salt (56 in 36 balls with 9 fours, 2 sixes) excelled with half-centuries. Captain Rajat Patidar (34 in 16 balls with 5 fours, 6 sixes) played aggressively. Among the KKR bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine and Vaibhav Arora took a wicket each.

KKR vs RCB: A Brilliant Start
Chasing the target of 175 runs, RCB got off to a brilliant start. Opener Phil Salt started the innings with a devastating batting performance from the very first over. Kohli also competed with him and hit boundaries. RCB scored 80 runs without losing a wicket in the power play. Later, when KKR brought in the spinners, the duo showed the same intensity. In this sequence, Phil Salt scored a half-century in 25 balls. In the process of playing hard, Phil Salt was caught by Varun Chakravarthy’s bowling, ending the 95-run partnership for the first wicket.
Kohli’s Destruction
When Devdutt Padikkal came to the crease.. . RCB scored 100 runs in 9.5 overs. Virat Kohli completed his half-century in 30 balls. While Padikkal (10) was out in an aggressive attempt, Rajat Patidar, who came out to bat, was the limit. He scored runs quickly with big shots. When he was out on the verge of victory, Livingstone (15 not out) completed the winning streak with his own shots.
